Why We're Rucking?

Red Gator is more than the name behind this event. He is a valued member of the Kingdom Defense community who has shared his time, knowledge, and experience as an instructor, mentor, and trusted member of our team.

While serving with Ukrainian special operations, Red Gator sustained a life-changing injury that resulted in the loss of his foot. He now faces an extensive period of rehabilitation, adaptation, and recovery.

He has spent years standing alongside others, teaching, contributing, and making the people around him better. During his mission, Red Gator covered approximately 37 kilometers while carrying significant equipment. Our 7K ruck is only a fraction of that distance, but it gives us a meaningful way to recognize his effort, carry some weight in his honor, and stand alongside him in return.

Every mile and every registration helps support his rehabilitation, prosthetic needs, adaptive equipment, accessibility, transportation, and the resources he needs to regain his independence.

Trail & Meeting Location:

The exact trail and meeting location at Moraine State Park are still being finalized.

Once the route is confirmed, registered participants will receive an email with the finalized trail, meeting location, and other important event details. We will also update this page with the route map and designated meeting point.

Updates will also be shared on Kingdom Defense’s Instagram and Facebook pages.

Please make sure you provide the correct email address when registering so you receive all important information leading up to the ruck.

Keep an eye on your inbox, check back on this page, and follow Kingdom Defense on social media for the latest updates.

What to Expect:

This is a community ruck, not a race. Participants of all experience levels are welcome, and everyone is encouraged to carry a ruck or pack appropriate to their own ability and experience.

During his service, Red Gator covered approximately 37 kilometers while carrying significant equipment. Our 7K ruck is a small way to recognize that effort, carry some weight in his honor, and stand behind him as a community.

Choose a weight that is safe and appropriate for you, come prepared for the trail, and move at a pace you can sustain.

This event is not about who carries the most or finishes the fastest. It is about showing up, putting in the miles, and carrying some of the weight together.

What to Bring?

Come prepared for time on the trails with comfortable footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, and enough water for the route.

Participants are encouraged to bring a ruck or pack and carry a weight that is appropriate for their ability and experience. The goal is not to see who can carry the most, but to take on some weight, put in the miles, and honor the effort behind the event.

We also recommend bringing any personal nutrition, medications, or other items you may need while on the trail.

Bring a friend, shoulder your ruck, and come ready to put some miles in for Red Gator.

Can't Attend?

You can still support Red Gator.

Donations toward the fundraiser are greatly appreciated and will go toward supporting his continued recovery, rehabilitation, prosthetic needs, and the equipment and resources that will help him move forward.

Every registration, donation, and mile helps.

Come ruck with us. Show up for Red Gator.
