Individual Movement Techniques (IMT) | Performance-Based Tactical Movement for Film & Television
$80 per participant (registration required)
Course Overview
Individual Movement Techniques (IMT) is a reality-based training course designed for actors, stunt performers, and production talent who want to move believably on camera by understanding how movement actually works in real-world tactical environments.
The premise of this course is simple: authentic performance comes from training real fundamentals, not imitation. By learning how military, law enforcement, and security professionals actually move, position themselves, and transition through space, performers gain the awareness and physical discipline necessary to deliver roles with credibility and confidence.
Training focuses on real movement principles, then translates those principles into the acting and stunt environment so they can be safely, effectively, and convincingly applied on screen or stage.
Training Philosophy and Approach
IMT is not about choreography alone, nor is it about teaching combat tactics. It is about understanding the why behind movement, so performance choices make sense instinctively rather than appearing forced or theatrical.
Instruction emphasizes:
How real professionals move with purpose and intent
Why posture, spacing, and transitions matter in real environments
Situational awareness cues that inform movement decisions
Translating real-world movement into camera-safe performance
Eliminating habits that undermine realism
By grounding performers in real-world logic, IMT enables more natural, repeatable, and believable performances.
